Airbus is Recovers from Past Problems with Large Orders
With Delta deciding between the Airbus and the recent 22 A350 order from u.s. airways, the Airbus has rebounded from its previous problems.

"I can tell you with full confidence that Airbus is back and fully back, as you have started noting yesterday as demonstrated by our first day announcements," said Gallois on the second day of the Paris Air Show.

On the first day, Airbus upstaged rival Boeing with a blitz of new orders for its superjumbo A380, future mid-sized longhaul A350 plane and single-aisled A320s.

The European group announced that it had booked firm orders or letters of intent to order for 339 aircraft, a record figure, for a value of 45.7 billion dollars (34.1 billion euros) at catalogue prices.

Airbus slumped to a loss last year, the first in its history, after being hit by production problems and management turmoil linked to its A380 superjumbo project.

In March, Airbus announced a radical cost-cutting program intended to reduce the workforce by 10,000 in Europe, together with restructuring of the group.
