In preparing for my private pilot written exam, I told myself I was going to set aside a certain number of hours each week to study. I bought a set of DVDs and course books to take me through the process.
Though I started out well, my effort began to flag in zeal. I had professional and family responsibilities that took a large amount of time, plus I was taking flying lessons.
When it became obvious that I was getting close to my check ride and still was not prepared for the written, I panicked and decided to bite the bullet and take a weekend course in Memphis offered by Aviation Seminars.
Though reluctant to go this route – I really felt like I was admitting defeat – circumstances determined otherwise. And, you know, I'm glad I did.
It was a grueling two days in some respects, but the instructor was extremely knowledgeable and reinforced the essential elements. Sure, it was geared strictly to enable you to pass the written, but I feel I learned a lot nevertheless.
I'd love to get some feedback on your experience with these types of classes and your opinions on the subject. Do you feel these courses short-circuit the learning process and only provide a quick-fix? Or, do you see them as valid options?

Hi, I am a flight instructor at AirQuest Aviation in Butler, PA. I would like to know if it possible for us to publish a number of dates about Aviation seminars we will be giving this year.
I just attended a Aviation Seminars Flight Instructor Refresher Course FIRC in Las Vegas. Our instructor was Kim Barnes, a 737 pilot from California. I have been going to FIRCS for almost 20 years and this one was by far the best I have ever attended! Aviation Seminars has in my opinion the most knowledgeable and experienced instructors in the business. Kim does a great job imparting his experience and knowledge and teaches with humor. It never gets boring. I highly recommed them. First class all the way!
I work with Aviation Seminars and would like to list out website for all those in search of future dates. Our website is http://www.aviationseminars.com
