Don't ask me why, but I've fallen in love with the Ercoupe. Maybe it's because in it's day it was touted as the safest plane in the air, stall-proof in fact. Though I'd have to see that to believe it.
Perhaps it's because it's inexpensive to own and maintain, or because there are so many cool paint jobs in photos I've seen. You can really "personalize" this little plane.
Whatever the reason, I want to fly one of these. Well, it turns out I may get my chance. There is a local pilot, an older man, who owns one (I don't know what model though.) and loves to show it off. He even has a little grass strip at his farm where he flies.
The Ercoupe represents a piece of aviation history to me. If I get to fly it, you will be the first to know!
