Tomorrow, Friday, the FAA and the Experimental Aircraft Association will honor the first two aircraft to receive special airworthiness certificates in the light-sport aircraft category. Both aircraft are from Europe.
The Evektor-Aerotechnik SportStar from the Czech Republic received its airworthiness certificate on april 8. The airplane sells for $95,000. The second was the German-made Flight Design CT offered by Flightstar Inc. of Connecticut, which received its certificate on April 11. It sells for $85,000.
