When I first started my flight training in 2003, one of the first things I did was join the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association (AOPA). The main reason was because they have a kickin' student pilot website.

It's a convenient place to get the latest NOTAM's, check weather, and find out news and information. Plus, they are staunch advocates of general aviation.

But, if you're a pilot, you already know that! Let me say that, if you're not a member of AOPA, you should stop what you're doing and join.
