North American T-6 Trainer

T-6.jpg

I was flyinglinks yesterday out of my local airport when what did my wandering eyes behold but a T-6 Texan trainer coming in for a landing.

The photo here is not of the plane I saw, but merely one of the model. This one was painted WWII Navy colors (that deep blue), and was flying in from Birmingham, Alabama.

I had the privilege of watching it do a couple of touch-and-goes, then pull in to the FBO for fuel. No, I didn't have my camera with me, darn it, or else you'd be looking at a photo of the actual plane above.
