Pilot Locked Out of Cockpit After Bathroom Break
Filed in archive Fun Stuff on August 31, 2006
The pilot of an air canada Jazz flight from Ottawa to Winnipeg left the cockpit to use the restroom at the back of the plane. When he returned, the door was apparently locked or stuck closed, and he was unable to resume control of the plane.

The flight was manned at the time by the First Officer, Canada.com reported.
For roughly 10 minutes, passengers described seeing the pilot bang on the door and communicating with the cockpit through an internal telephone, but being unable to open the cabin door.
The cockpit door ultimately had to be taken off its hinges before the pilot could return to the cockpit.
