I found a website recently especially for student pilotslinks called the Student Pilot Network.

It's the website of Fly America, an aviation organization with the mission to educate, motivate and inform aspiring pilots. The Student Pilot Network (SPN) website is the principle means by which Fly America engages and helps people learn about how to experience the exciting lifestyle that aviation offers.

At first blush the site doesn't seem to offer much info except about flight schools and becoming a member. I did find a way into the site though using the following link - http://www.studentpilot.net/weather/. Once you access that page, you can click the logo in the upper-left hand corner to see a different main page with links to all kinds of good information including some good articles on learning to fly.

Since I've already got my PPL I didn't bother to join, but sure wished I had come across the site when I was learning to fly. It would have been a helpful resource. Heck, it still is!
