TFR Over Memphis Due to Presidental Visit

FAA TO ESTABLISH TFR OVER MEMPHIS ON THURSDAY, FRIDAY AOPA is sending this message to advise pilots in and near Memphis, Tennessee, that the FAA has issued a notam restricting flight in the area during President Bush's planned overnight visit Thursday, March 10 through Friday, March 11.

There will be a 30-nautical-mile-radius temporary flight restriction (TFR) centered on the MEM VOR's 334-degree radial at 8.5 miles, extending up to Flight Level 180. It will be in effect from 5:55 p.m. local on Thursday until 11:25 a.m. local on Friday. Also, there will be a smaller 10-nm-radius GA no-fly zone in effect during that time frame.

The affected landing facilities are General Dewitt Spain (M01), Memphis International (MEM), West Memphis Municipal (AWM), Charles W. Baker (2M8), Millington Municipal (NQA), Olive Branch (OLV), Hernando Village Airpark, Inc. (H75), Wolf River (54M), and Marked Tree Municipal (6M8).

Other areas affected by the TFR today and tomorrow include Louisville, KY, Montgomery, AL, and Shreveport, LA.
