Here are a few significant aviation events that occurred this month.

July 2, 1937: amelia earhart and her co-pilot Fred Noonan disappeared over the Pacific Ocean while attempting to fly around the world.

July 2, 2002: Steve Fossett became the first to circumnavigate the globe solo in a balloon.

July 4, 1997: The U.S. Pathfinder probe landed on Mars.

July 6, 1997: The Mars rover Sojourner rolled onto the Martian surface.

July 15, 1975: The Russian Soyuz and the U.S. Apollo launched. The Apollo-Soyuz mission was the first international manned spaceflight.
