Time to Kick It Up a Notch!

I got my PPL last year in October. Since that time I've only flown 152s that I've rented from my local FBO. I've come to realize it's time for me to upgrade my flight experience and, in the words of famed TV chef Emeril LaGasse, kick it up a notch.

My plans are to get checked out in a 172, then a Piper Arrow, planes owned by the FBO. I'm also looking to join a flying club. Though there are none in my local area so I'm told, there is one not too far away at M23 in Newton, MS. There dues are incredibly low and they have a fairly new 172 that has been upgraded to 180 and has onboard GPS and the works. It'll haul four adults with luggage, no problem.

Flying is somewhat of a rich man's sport, but no more so that what it costs if one was an avid golfer, hunter or Fishermanlinks. Since none of those sports appeal to me I'm saving all my pennies for flying. It has truly become a passion and I relish every hour I spend suspended above the earth.
